This is something I would like to share, besides technology is necessary to encourage our students to be friendly with nature, a great communication and balance between nature and technology provides students more knowledge for their life. To live in a society that respects and takes care of our environment as well as using and living with technology for a good benefit in their lives. Here is a picture of our many campings we have in the school. Teachers and students together, exploring and learning. We have camping from kindergarten up to Seniors. Great experiences and good to have it in our curriculum.
First of all let me compliment you on your blog. It looks just lovely!
I agree with your post concerning the need to ingrain our students with a deep respect for nature. When I taught primary school pupils, I once conducted a lesson about batteries. We talked about the origin of the word, its meanings (both in warfare/ artillery and in its more commonly used form), idioms connected to battery such recharging your battery and we even built a potato battery with which we powered a small light bulb. We had a reading passage on the importance of recycling batteries and not throwing them away with the regular garbage. As a project, the students collected batteries in their neighborhood. They had a lot of fun and so did I!
